As Chief Outsiders’ recently appointed new Principal, Brown complements Chief Outsiders’ core values and the teams’ exceptional skills. Brown specializes in corporate and market strategy, branding, product and company positioning, mergers and acquisitions, and business and channel development. Throughout her career, Brown has demonstrated the ability to define strategy and achieve profitable business results while managing organizational growth and change.
In 2009, Brown founded The Octane Group, a management consulting firm dedicated to helping businesses maximize their performance. Prior to founding The Octane Group, Brown served as Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer for Ignite Technologies, the leading provider of enterprise-wide video and rich media delivery solutions for Global 2000 companies. At Ignite, Brown was responsible for market strategy, branding, product positioning and messaging, and strategic alliances.
Brown also served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Ipsum Networks, a privately held company that developed route analytics solutions to optimize IP traffic within corporate enterprise and telecommunications networks. Brown led Ipsum to be positioned as Cisco’s preferred partner for routing analytics.
Prior to Ipsum, Brown co-founded MetaSolv Software, a global market leading software and services company focused on the world’s largest telecommunications providers. Together, the three co-founders took the start-up from concept to a worldwide organization with hundreds of customers in over 100 countries. As Chief Marketing Officer, Brown launched strategic partnerships with consulting firms, including Accenture, Ernst & Young, and KPMG for worldwide implementations. Brown became widely recognized within the industry analyst, trade press and financial communities as a leading spokesperson and innovator in positioning OSS (Operational Support Solutions) to the growing communications market. MetaSolv completed a successful IPO with a market cap of $4B and went on to acquire multiple international companies to accelerate growth. Ultimately, MetaSolv was acquired by Oracle and its solution continues to be a market leader in the telecommunications industry.
